Thank you for joining us for our Labor Day festival! We are genuinely glad you are here. Whether you come to church every Sunday, have not been inside a Catholic church in years, or have never really thought much about faith at all, you are welcome here.
You may have scanned this little QR code out of curiosity. Maybe you wondered what was hiding behind it. Maybe you have questions about Catholicism. Maybe someone you love is Catholic. Maybe you have been searching for something more in your life but are not quite sure what that “something” is. Whatever brought you here, we invite you to take a few minutes and explore.
But first, take a look around.
See all those purple shirts?
Those are our volunteers. They are not getting paid to be here. They are here because they love St. Cecilia. They love our school. They love our church. They love their faith. And most importantly, they love the people who make this place what it is.
You see, St. Cecilia is more than a church. We are a family.
A family that comes together to celebrate, to serve, to pray, to support one another, and to share our faith. Every purple shirt you see represents someone who has chosen to give their time because they believe in this community and in what we are building together.
And today, we are happy to welcome you into that family.
So, since you made it this far, why not take a moment to discover a little more about who we are, what we believe, and why our Catholic faith means so much to us?
You might just find something you have been looking for.
Maybe you have always wondered what Catholics actually believe. Maybe you have questions about God, Jesus, the Church, or what happens after this life. Maybe you have never really thought about becoming Catholic before.
That’s okay.
At the heart of Catholicism is something very simple: God loves you and wants to know you.
Catholics believe that God created every person with a purpose and that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to bring us back to Him. Jesus lived, died, and rose again so that we could know God’s love, receive His forgiveness, and share eternal life with Him.
Everything we do as Catholics points back to that relationship with Jesus: the Mass, the sacraments, prayer, Scripture, the saints, our school, our traditions, and the way we serve one another.
You don’t have to understand it all right away.
You can start with a question.
If something you’ve seen or heard has made you curious about Catholicism, we’d love to help you explore it.
That’s what OCIA is for.
OCIA, the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a process for adults who want to learn about the Catholic faith and explore whether God may be calling them to become Catholic.
There is no pressure. You don’t need to know all the prayers. You don’t need to understand the Mass. You don’t even need to know exactly what you believe.
Just come with your questions.
Learn. Listen. Talk. Pray. Discover.
You never know where a simple question might lead.
Our parish and our school exist for more than academics, activities, and events. We believe that every person has an eternal soul, that every person is loved by God, and that every person is called to know Him.
One of the purposes of our Catholic school is beautifully simple: to save souls.
That mission is at the heart of who we are.
When you see all those purple shirts around the festival, you are seeing people who have given their time because they believe St. Cecilia is worth giving themselves to. They are part of a family that wants to share its faith, serve others, and help people encounter Jesus Christ.
And we would love for you to be part of that family.
